Final Fantasy VII was released on January 31, 1997 as the first Final Fantasy game to be in 3D. It is similar to the previous Final Fantasy games with a world map, turn-based battle system, and a great storyline. There are many playable characters in the game; some need to be unlocked though certain tasks while other will join the team as the game progress.
